I am sure all of you have been exposed to some viral email proclaiming that you have won money or are the subject of a lawsuit or some other bogus claim that is sent to the masses to stir up controversy and spread nonsense (and sometimes deliver viruses!). It is increasingly important to teach our students how to decipher truth from fiction, especially when delivered digitally. Many people tend to believe that if it's written online or in an email...it MUST be true! Enter the News Literacy Project, which was designed to teach middle school and high school students how to be informed consumers and seek credible sources for news and information.
